For the average journalist and weekly rugby addict, it will not mean much to have a chance to meet the Springboks’ Beast in real life.
But to the aspirant rugby player seeing Tendai Mtawarira will mean so much. It inspires hope and drives the young boys and girls towards their dreams.Who knows maybe 15 years from now a young lady who played at this year’s festival will also inspire a another generation. Despite his hectic schedule, the massive Sharks and Boks prop made time to visit the same tournament that made his name reign.
The beast graced the COTTCO rugby festival in refreshing fashion, clad in a red Coca Cola T-shirt signing shirts and smiling at fans.
Tendai Mtawarira was schooled at Churchill before being awarded a rugby scholarship at Peterhouse Boys on his way to South Africa. His story is truly an inspirational one.
