The under 13 Coca Cola youth week (Craven Week) enters day three tomorrow at Warmbaths HS in Bela Bela, South Africa
Zimbabwe will face Namibia in the last match of the day at 15:40. Both Namibia and Zimbabwe are still to win a game at this year’s tournament.
Zimbabwe has scored more points in the tournament so far than their Namibian counterparts but they have also conceded more points. In their first match Namibia went down 17 – 0 against Mpumalanga while Zimbabwe lost 36 – 0 to the Golden Lions. In the second round of matches Zimbabwe managed to score one converted try against Griffons total of 25 while. Namibia also lost their second match 26-5 to Free State.
In recent years the two countries have had their own private battle to be Africa’s second best rugby nation. Last year Namibia came out tops recording wins from the under 13 age group through to the under 18 at Craven Week as well as at home in the under 19 age group.
Zimbabweans will keep their fingers crossed and hope their most junior side registers a win tomorrow to give them a head start against Namibia ahead of the under 17 and under 18 clashes which will follow in the next couple of weeks.
