Zimbabwe To Face Border In Championship Semi-Finals

The Zimbabwe U19 Girls Water-polo squad is through to the semi-final of the ongoing S.A National Water-polo Championships in Port Elizabeth East London.

The girls posted a convincing 15-5 win over Central Gauteng B in their last pool match to stay at the top of their pool log table. In the process the girls have set up a tough semi-final draw for themselves as they now face Border province from Pool B.

Zimbabwe has ended the pool stages of the tournament unbeaten, recording four out of four victories as they marched on towards the Championship semi-finals. On the other hand, Border has been impressive as well, winning 14-6 against Western Province B on Saturday before suffering a disappointing 8-9 loss at the hands of Central Gauteng A on Sunday. On Sunday afternoon, Border came back to winning ways with a well deserved 12-9 win over Eastern Province.

The semi-final match pitting Border against Zimbabwe kicks-off at 6 pm this evening. To the girls we say, “All the best and keep flying our flag high.”
