Peterhouse Win Arundel Cross Country Meet

Peterhouse Boys and Girls came tops in the boys and girls division respectively at the Arundel cross country meet that took place last Friday (February 7) afternoon at the Mt Pleasant-school. This becomes Peterhouse’s consecutive win after they won the Watershed event some two weeks back.

Rain came pouring down but the event continued. The athletes were not the only ones working the mud, the spectators braved the rain as well to watch the start and finish of the six races. A few parents and teachers chose not to sit in one place but to position themselves at a number of spots along the course, in order to cheer on the runners.

Peterhouse Boys and Girls dominated the races but of the co-ed schools, Hellenic put up a brilliant showing. A Meyer of Chisipite who has been doing so well on the cross country circuit in the U15 girls division continued to impress but this time coming second to Adrianna Bruff of Hellenic.

Gideon Benade and Mitchell Kaye, both from Peterhouse, outran everyone, finishing some seconds apart but over a minute ahead of the third-placed runner in the U17 boys division.
