Falcon Feasts In Tigers’ Backyard

Falcon College posted a 21-19 victory against a well drilled Prince Edward Tigers outfit on Jubilee field in Harare on Saturday.

The Esigodini side seems to be doing all the right things on the park this year and their season opener win against the Tigers might be an indicator of an unbeaten season if they can maintain this form.

Basing on Falcon’s pre-season fixtures in Benoni, South Africa as well as matches played at the Dairibord Schools Rugby Festival it’s safe to say, “If Falcon was to lose a game this season it would be against Prince Edward” but they have cleared that hurdle. Nonetheless it’s still too early to make that call as teams tend to wear-out or improve as the season progresses.

In other matches played over the weekend, Kyle College won 13-12 against Churchill in a tightly contested encounter. St John’s College came back to winning ways with a 20-13 win over Peterhouse Boys. CBC was at the mercy of St George’s College losing 5-33 in what was really a one sided affair.

Eaglesvale took Petra to the cleaners posting the second biggest score of the weekend 52-5 after Hillcrest’s massive 68-0 against Heritage. Milton also enjoyed a good run on Saturday winning 48-7 against Goldridge while Hellenic enjoyed a hard-earned 6-5 win over Lomagundi College.
