St John’s College amassed an impressive 285 points to claim first position at the friendly boys’ swim meet held with seven high schools at St Georges’s College on Saturday afternoon.In this first meet of the swimming season as aquatic sports are coming back to life after the winter break, a few strokes were out of rhythm. Some of the lads where clearly out of form, but it all turned out well as coaches will now have a point to start from and work towards their goals as the season matures.The schools that finished fourth and above were in a league of their own as they all registered scores over 200. Marondera’s Peterhouse were just 10 points behind winners St John’s placing second with a respectable 275. Hellenic came fourth with 238 points while hosts St George’s College finished third with 259 points. Also at the meet were Kutama College collected 160 points to finish fifth and Prince Edward who placed sixth with 139 points while St Ignatius’ College finished seventh with 87 points.
