Chisipite Regatta To Close Off 2014 Rowing Season

The Chisipite Sprints Regatta, the last event in the 2014 schools rowing calendar, will take place this Sunday, Nov 23 starting at 8:00am at Mazowe Dam. Traditionally celebrated as one of the main regattas of the season, Chisi Sprints includes seven high schools and one club. In addition to hosts Chisipite, the regatta has teams from Arundel, Girls High, Peterhouse Boys and Girls, Prince Edward, St George’s and Hunyani Rowing Club. As St John’s College, who have entered this regatta in the past, only have one rower participating this year, he will row as part of Hunyani’s team. Being a sprints regatta means that there will be no 1500 or 2000m races on Sunday. Instead, the A and B races for top rowers will span 1000m distances with single, double and quad categories. There are no single scull races in the C and D categories where rowers will race a distance of 500m in double and quad competitions.
