Namibia’s U18 rugby side continued their dominance over the Old Mutual U18 Young Sables side winning 29-7 in their last fixture of the Coca-Cola Craven Week at the Markotter Sports Complex at Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch.
The Young Sables put up a solid display in the first half of the encounter going into the break 7-7 with the Namibians. Zimbabwe’s try coming from skipper, Brian Muntanga. It was in the second half that Zimbabwe started to fall back and Namibia took advantage of that lapse and piled points on the board.
The win for Namibia means the Young Sables return home winless and marks the fifth consecutive win by Namibia over Zimbabwe at this age group.
Preparation and conditioning has been Zimbabwe’s biggest enemy and it’s been quite clear this week as our boys have only been playing their best in the first half and letting it slip in the second half.
I’m going to put together a full analysis of Zimbabwe’s performance on this tour sometime this coming week and propose suggestions about how we can collectively improve a couple of things going forward.
