Zimbabwe faces Kenya in U19 Rugby Africa Cup

The 2015 edition of the U19 Rugby Africa Cup’s Group 1A Tournament will take place in Harare this week.  The tournament kicks off on Wednesday, 26 August 2015 at 1pm with a match between Namibia and Uganda.  Hosts Zimbabwe meet Kenya at 3pm on the same day, with all matches taking place at St George’s College. The winner of the tournament qualifies for the World Rugby U20 Trophy to be held in April 2016.

After two days of rest, the tournament continues on Saturday, 29 August with the losers meeting at 1pm to battle for third place, with the winning national teams meeting at 3pm to determine the winner.  Coming out of a winless showing at Craven Week in Stellenbosch in July, the Zimbabwe U19 team, led by Coach Brendon Brider, is aiming to come out strong this week on home turf.  Admission is free, and with school kids on holiday, we hope there will be a strong showing of support of our boys.
