The Zimbabwe U15 Girls playing in the South African Schools Water Polo Inter-provincials in Cape Town rounded up their pool games this morning (13 December 2015) with a 2-all draw against highly ranked Central Gauteng A.
Led by skipper Jessica Hullet and Coach , Brendon Brider, the U15 girls have shown some great plays so far in Cape Town. Zimbabwe started slow, losing to 4-7 to Kwazulu Natal in their opener on Friday, but quickly found winning ways with a 4-1 victory against Central Gauteng B.
Yesterday, Western Province B proved to be a challenge but the girls held on to a narrow 6-4 win over the host province’s B side. However, South Western Districts was not as lucky and Zimbabwe hammered them 13-4 in their last game of the day on Saturday.
With the three wins, a draw and a loss, Zimbabwe finishes third in the pool. That record should be a motivator going into the playoffs this afternoon, having drawn 2-all with a team that finished tops in the same competition last year.
Below is an interview with Brendon Brider after his team’s run in the pool stages of the U15 competition.
