Zimbabwean high school rugby and hockey sides played their final matches at Easter weekend festivals today, 27 March 2016, with mostly wins, but overall mixed results.
At the Krugersdorp Easter Festival, Hillcrest College finished on a high note with a 33-27 victory over Rooderport. St George’s College beat Jabulani Technical High School with a resounding 46-5 final scoreline to earn their first win of the tournament.
Meanwhile, at the St. Dustan’s Easter Festival, which featured rugby, boys and girls hockey and netball, Falcon College’s 1st XV went three for three on the rugby pitch with a 43-13 win over South African side Springs Boys High. Falcon’s Head boy Matthew Conolly was awarded the trophy for Sportsmanship and Good Team Discipline. The Falcon Titans boys’ hockey team rounded up their tour with a 5-0 victory over HeronsBridge today as well.
Hellenic lost their final match at St Dunstan’s today to Aston College 7-22, after being in a scoreless 0-10 position at half time. Watershed won their final match against St. Peter’s College 24-15.
At the St John’s College Festival in Johannesburg, Harare’s St John’s College return home after suffering a final 7-27 loss to the Lions Invitational team.
