Churchill who are yet to lose a match this year face their toughest test to date this weekend when they host Peterhouse at Nigel Phillip. With two wins against bitter rivals Prince Edward already under their belt, the Jeff Madhake-coached side will not be an easy one for the Kings outfit.
One school of thought argues that Churchill hasn’t been really put to the test this season, while another says they are unbeatable this season. Some argue that this game should be our Game of the Week. Whichever school of thought you agree with, one undeniable thing is that something is working right at Nigel Phillip and that whether the Kings can rule over the Bulldogs is something we will only know by Saturday evening.
Another exciting match to watch this weekend will be Hillcrest facing Eaglesvale. Last weekend, Hillcrest faced Gateway in Mutare and won by a convincing score of 33-0. Meanwhile, in Chinhoyi, a tense game between Lomagundi and Eaglesvale ended in a single point victory for Eaglesvale 14-13.
In other weekend rugby fixtures, Falcon takes on St George’s on Weaver, while Hellenic take on Gateway. Midlands Christian host Watershed in Gweru while Christian Brothers College welcomes Kyle to Bulawayo. Also in Bulawayo, Milton faces Plumtree. In Midlands Province, Jameson from Kadoma meet Kwekwe High as Goldridge host Heritage.
Victoria High makes the trek from Masvingo to face Mutare Boys. Meanwhile, back to the capital Ellis Robbins meet Allan Wilson while Mount Pleasant High host Lord Malvern in what promises to be another action-packed weekend of school boys rugby.
