Prince Edward In Own League At Arundel Cross Country

Prince Edward boys put in a stellar performance at the Arundel Cross-Country Invitational on Friday (3 February 2017) to emerge victors in the boys’ section of the competition. Across the three age groups – U15, U17, U20 – Prince Edward had at least four finishers in the top five.   Prince Edward’s Tatenda Zinyengerere in the juniors and Wellington Mudzinga in the open predictably won their races with a wide margin.  The upset was in the middle race where Peterhouse’s Guni-Roberts overtook the Prince Edward field to win.

In the Girls section, Peterhouse continued their good run of form fighting off albeit with strong competition and upsets from Hellenic, Chisipite, Arundel and Lomagundi.  Triathlete Gabby de Chassart of Hellenic won the girls’ open category with ease as did newcomer to the high school scene Makanaka Mawere, also of Hellenic.  The middle girls race was tight with a surprise first finish by Mbgemena Chinyere of Eaglesvale who passed a strong Peterhouse crew that took second through sixth places.
