Bulawayo is putting the final touches on preparations to host the CANA IV Championships which this year include both swimming and water polo. Fourteen teams will be participating in the Championships, with a total of over 300 swimmers and 100 water polo players. The first foreign aquatic teams are arriving in Bulawayo on 13 February.
The Championships, which run from 16-19 February 2017, will be held at the Bulawayo Public Pool facility which was refurbished for the Region 5 games in December 2014. The meet serves as a FINA qualifier where swimmers can qualify with A and B times to compete in the 17th World FINA Championships in Budapest, Hungary later in the year.
