Chisipite Retains Sprints Challenge Cup

Chisipite fielded an impressive team of sprinters to retain the cup at the Prince Edward Sprints Challenge on Wednesday (22 February 2017).    Previous Absolute Athlete of the Week Form Two Chisipite student Paige Van Der Westhuizen brought a few medals to her team including running an impressive U15 800m race in 2:27.01 .

Close on the chase of winner Chisipite’s 184 points was Gateway who came second for the girls with 172 points.  Gateway’s Kelechi Christian who won the U20 100m in 12.82 and the U20 200m in 26.30.    New Gateway girls coach Sebastian Gari seems to be bringing up the strength of his team.

Peterhouse Girls finished third.  Arundel, who held the Sprints Challenge cup in both 2014 and 2015, finished fourth.  Sodbury was fifth with Lomagundi, who had to leave before the relays, sixth.  Mabelreign Girls and Girls High School rounded off the field.
